Calypso Charters has just signed a contract for a new high speed 15m dive catamaran. This vessel will use the latest foil technology from Murray Burns and Dovell coupled with Seafury surface drives to give substantial increase in speed and fuel economy over conventional propulsion systems.
This is the fourth vessel New Wave Catamarans will build for Calypso Charters. Previous vessels were Eclipse (launched 2004), Eclipse (launched 2006) and Calypso (launched 2007). Repeat customers like Graham Jones show how successful these vessels are in operation as well as the owner's satisfaction with both the performance of the design and quality of the build.
This
vessel is 75 % finished and can be used as a passenger ferry / tourist
vessel and has been designed to suit riverways with proven low wash hulls
as well as coastal charters and seasonal whale watching and toursit operations.
This design is similar to the very successful Crystal
Spirit vessel which
was one of New Wave's first new builds.Crystal
Spirit operates from Palm
Beach to Ettalong in Northern Sydney for over four years and has been
in service on numerous occasion in Sydney harbour.
