The "Sea Speed" designed 24 Metre Overnight Dive/Cruise Catamaran is currently operational in the West Australian and Kimberly coast The vessel cruised over on its own hull with ease. The vessel was launched March 2009 and is for Suba-Aqua Enterprises who are replacing their existing monohull vessel with this purpose designed and built craft to suit there needs. The design is from Paul Birgan of Sea Speed Design and is based on the very successful 24 metre wide-body dive catamarans design. This proven efficient hull is being fitted out with cabins for extended offshore work boat, research and tourist operations. The lower level cabin has a large open galley, lounge and saloon area for comfortable indoor living with four twin cabins with en-suites and a four crew cabin.
The large aft’ lower dive deck features a hydraulic dive platform which houses the 3 man submarine. The hydraulic platform lowers between the hulls to launch and retrieve the submersible and when empty doubles as a lowering feature deck. The upper level has a large wheelhouse with lounges behind for passenger viewing. Behind this are a spacious twin master cabin with en-suite and a three berth crew cabin. New Wave Cats has just launched a new high speed 15m dive catamaran using the latest foil technology from Murray Burns and Dovell coupled with Seafury surface drives. This vessel is performing well with a top speed of over 32 knots.
"Tusa V", a 24 meter day dive boat was launched on Monday 27 Aug 2007 and has already started work in Cairns. She is powered by MTU Series 60s (496 kw @ 2300 rpm) providing super economical operation of around 80 liters per hour per engine at 20 - 21 knots cruising speed and over 26 knots top speed. This is 2 knots over the contract speed and the owners are very pleased with the vessel.
Oil Reprocessing Cat Launched A 20 meter fast work catamaran to showcase vessel based bio fuel technology, waste oil reprocessing and oil spill recovery vessel. New Wave believe these new concepts can benefit many marine industry sectors both in environmentally friendly waste oil disposal and the making and using of bio-fuels at sea.

Third 24 metre Dive Catamaran for Calypso
Charters Launched April 2007 Tthe third 24 meter cat for Graham Jones from Calypso Charters in Port Douglas. This cat is powered by powered by twin 500kw MTU series 60's and achieved exceptional fuel economy. A sister boat of Eclipse 2006.
Successfully completion of five new crew boats for the Caspian Sea. The low draft, high speed cats where built to Lloyds class and the highest oil industry standards. In order to meet owner demand two of the cats were partially built in Australia and completed in Baku. |
